I’ve always been a huge fan of Garden of Life. As a company, they’re incredibly passionate about providing whole-food, organic and non-synthetically produced products and supplements. They are always on the top of my list when recommending supplements! For this review, I have trialled their Raw Organic Vanilla Protein and the My Kind Organics Vegan D3 spray; both of which arrived in the most beautiful packaging! These products are certified vegan and gluten free.

I chose to trial the Vegan D3 Organic Spray as it’s now winter, and it’s recommended that those living in the UK supplement vitamin D during these months. Usually, the body forms vitamin D from sunlight on the skin during the Spring and Summer months. However, between October-early March we don’t get enough sunlight in the UK to obtain optimal vitamin D levels. This vitamin is vital for our health; helping the body absorb minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphate for healthy bones, muscles and teeth, and supports immune function.

The Vegan D3 spray is certified organic and non-GMO verified, made with whole food ingredients As somebody who dislikes taking supplements in pill-form, I love that I can take this supplement as a spray with the addition of a surprisingly yummy vanilla flavour. I have been taking one spray daily, and it can be mixed with your favourite drink!

The Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein is certified organic and non-GMO verified. It contains 13 Raw sprouted proteins and delivers upto 22 grams of protein per serving. The protein is ‘raw’ because heat can denature proteins, meaning this protein has been produced at low temperatures, in order to ensure optimal bioavailability for your body.

As somebody who consumes a plant-based diet, I am fairly conscious of my protein intake. At the moment I’m aiming to increase protein at breakfast and snack times in order to help prevent blood sugar crashes, and this high-quality protein powder has been a life-saver! It’s perfect mixed into yoghurt or added to overnight oats, porridge, oatmeal and smoothies, or used in this tasty 2 minute mug cake.

Now onto flavour. Taste is one of my biggest issues with protein powders. However, that ‘icky’ protein-y taste that is so common with many protein powders is surprisingly non-existent, which is a huge win for me. That’s why I love adding a couple of scoops to this Mug Cake, making it the perfect quick and simple mid-afternoon or mid-morning snack to satisfy those between-meal hunger pangs!
