Homemade Cranberry Sauce
You won't believe how quick and easy it is to make your own cranberry sauce. It only requires a handful of ingredients and the taste is absolutely incredible. It's naturally vegan and gluten free, and the perfect condiment to your Christmas dinner!
Ingredients
- 250 grams fresh cranberries
- 110 grams caster sugar or golden caster sugar
- 100 ml orange juice fresh, or from a carton
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon optional
- 1/2 tsp orange zest optional
Instructions
- Add the cranberries, sugar, orange juice and water to a pan on medium heat – stir until boiling and the sugar has dissolved
- Lower the heat to a simmer and cook until the cranberries burst (usually around 6-7 minutes for fresh cranberries; or 10-12 minutes for frozen)
- Stir in the cinnamon and orange zest (if using)
- Remove the pan from the heat (the sauce will thicken as it cools)
